I'm a video, photography, theatre and music person. I like the intersection of reality and fantasy, and the way each grows out of the other. I've been working with the Baltimore Rock Opera Society (BROS) for the last 7 years, and it's brought me in touch with puppetry, performance, and music. This combines with an older practice in video and photography to form a grab-bag style of video, animation, live performance and illustration. I use whatever tools I have to create imagined characters and worlds.
I create still and moving image work that plays with fantasy and illusion, pushing clients' and my own concepts into experimental visual realms. At the same time, I co-run a puppet vaudeville series known as The Mother Load, which plays with comedic tropes, theatrical music, and traditional character development in order to sneak difficult personal themes into an otherwise madcap environment.
