About Scott
Baltimore City
With my "2 by 2" watercolor series of couple’s portraits my intent is to project the power of the individuals and the strength of the pair. The subject matter is the human self: how we see each other and how we want to be seen. Each painting began by observing pairs of people usually in public places. TRIPLETS
For a December, 2015, exhibition at Jordan Faye Contemporary gallery in Baltimore I grouped UP IN ARMS paintings in rather random groups of three that I called triplets. This was done to see how certain juxtapositions created psychological associations. It was as if the combinations appeared by chance in the windows of a slot machine.

SCALES
I was thinking of this grouping as predators, but on second thought they have a more primitive commonality. They're all cold blooded and have scales.
-
SCALESSCALES presents critters that share a like-mindedness: unapologic predation. This arrangement had a paper measurement of about 9' x 6'.
