Alternate Realities Series 2012 -- 2013, cont'd

The series grew from my desire to express the unknowable probability of the universe.

All paintings are acrylic on canvas, 24 " x 24". I used a very specific palette that differed from my predominant colors of 2011. For the first time, I've added black to my palette to tone down the saturation of colors and create mystery.

      A new self-portrait from direct observation (looking into a mirror). I try to do one every couple of years. This one was especially hard. I need to wear my glasses to see close details and draw them but did not want to include my glasses in the portrait. My hair has grown since my FB profile pic. Luckily, the light was diffuse so only a minimum of wrinkles were visible. 12" x 9", conte crayon on toned Strathmore paper, 2022
