About Deanne

I began drawing at an early age, a talent that was developed early on by my grandmother who happened to be an elementary school art teacher. I graduated from Towson University in 2000 where I received a Bachelors of Science in Art Education, Cum Laude. I studied fine art at Pratt Institute, Maryland College of Art and Design, and McDaniel College. As an undergraduate I was able to study and experience living abroad in Florence, Italy.

Saint Mary's By The Sea

This was a commissioned piece. The clients wanted a painting of the church where they were married. The image was to be horizontal to fit the designated space where it was to be hung. I chose this angle to capture the most ornate part of the edifice and to give the image a dynamic feel. 30x46

Portrait of client's children at the beach. This image did not exist and was compiled using references provided by client. Measures 40x60

Safari Nursery

This project was to create an environment as if you were in a tent on the African Savannah. Two main walls with curtains drawn were executed on canvas and installed on site, the rest of the room was completed after installation. Furniture pieces were also painted to look like travel luggage to go with the theme.

Sunrise Sunset

A custom art piece for a client depicting either a sunrise or sunset. The five trees represent her 5 children. Client wanted an inspirational image with a hidden cross. The ray of light crossing the cloud is how I accomplished that challenge. Measures 48"x96"

Environmental Firm Lobby

A series of images depicting various landscapes throughout Maryland as well as vignettes of tools and implements used in the study of Environmental Science. All images were painted on canvas and installed on site with the exception of the logo.
