Dream Series
In 2016 I began exploring abstract stories...stories that could perhaps be completely real, but only in another time or place. I am interested in that edge, where reality slips into dream. I like to gaze in both directions when I am working my canvas.

Abstracts
Patterns and figures feature heavily in my work. At the end of 2016, I began focusing more on pattern, eliminating the figure. This is just the beginning of a series that I am currently working on. More to come!
Glimmer
In 2015 I started experimenting with metal leaf, working it into sections of my paintings. The metallic hues have added a certain warmth and radiance, lending a spiritual feeling to my figures. I sense a warmth emanating from the canvas, and I connect with the work in a way that is organic and spontaneous.

Figures in Bloom
When I paint I am illustrating the way in which I am connected to my environment. I am drawn to the patterns, colors and figures that I see in daily life, which I then use to populate a world of my own. I feel the energy from each individual piece and imagine the story it tells. I want my surfaces to radiate light and tease emotion. I become lost in the layers of paint and begin to formulate a story. Texture, color and motion are all important elements of my work that complete the experience.
