About Cody
Baltimore City
This current body of work emphasizes the models’ passive interaction between the artist and the studio environment. Working from life is essential. Inspiration is key. As a painter, I try to capture the models’ blemishes, psychology, flesh and the coursing veins underneath. Most of my works are seated or reclining nudes juxtaposed with a blanket, rug or walls. My landscapes are urban. I am trying to portray the aging and solitude of the structures amid the hustle of city life.

2018
My current body of work is not only a continuation from 2015 but a deeper emphasis on the connection with the model. I still believe working from life is essential and that inspiration is key. It is imperative to capture the models' blemishes, psychology, flesh and the coursing life beneath. The urban landscapes capture aging structures, romantic solitude and the collateral beauty of an aging and decaying old, American city.

2017 Urban Landscapes
While still painting the figure to acquire the models’ blemishes, psychology, flesh and coursing veins underneath. Seated or reclining nudes juxtaposed with a blanket, rug or walls. This current body of work has emphases on the urban landscape. The intention is to capture aging structures, romantic solitude and grit of a decaying, old American city.
