My paintings come out of a passion for all things material and ethereal, dreams, myths and memories, mixed up with equal parts love of color and the dynamic feel of making something from nothing. After years of working only with observed landscape in paint on canvas, I have made anything and everything my potential tool and the things that dance in my head, my images.
I attended the Academia di Belle Arti in Rome and the University of Chicago, have a degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and have studied with artist teachers privately since. My work is shown in galleries and is in many private collections around the US and abroad. After a fair amount of looking around everywhere else for places to live and work, I have landed back in my birthplace, amazed at its ever evolving magic as a place to make art in a lively, supportive and diverse community.
